Poetry Barn Class coming this fall: “Thinning the Veil: Risk, Intuition, and the Conjured Poem”

This 4-week poetry workshop will incorporate the mythology surrounding the ancient festival of Samhain, also known as Halloween and All Soul’s Day to create a prompt-driven method for leaving behind the clutter of 21st-century chaos and offer a passageway into the realm of the “spiritual” during this season of “thinning of the veil” to tap into the dimension of intuition for creative inspiration.

Students receive extensive, personal feedback from fellow students, and the teaching artist (me) on each poem written for the class, opportunity for lively discussions, and, once an initial workshop as been completed, future opportunities to stay involved in The Poetry barn Writing Community.

Enrollment is limited to keep class sizes small, ensuring a vibrant and nurturing atmosphere.

The Poetry Barn is based in West Hurley, New York. Our teaching artists are successful published poets well-established in the academic community. All workshops are rooted in research-based theories developed by the artists, often from their own scholarship methods.
